ABOUT KSLC
About KSLC
We don't build the building first. We listen to one person's story, build trust, connect scattered services, and build a community that cares for one another.
FROM THE CHAIR
Sometimes you don't know
who to ask.

Hello. I am Sang Do Bae, Chair of Korean Senior Life Campus.
In the course of life there are moments when even a small question leaves you unsure who to ask. Looking into senior housing. Applying for health coverage or public benefits. Finding a ride to a medical appointment. Some carry it alone, not wanting to worry their family.
When that happens, I hope you will feel able to say: let's just ask KSLC.
We will listen first. We will explain what you need to know in Korean, step by step, and connect you with the organizations that can help. After the connection is made, we will check that things are moving and work out the next step with you.
KSLC is not built by one person. It becomes warmer and steadier when seniors and families, neighbours and volunteers, and local organizations reach out to one another. As Chair, I will listen to your voices and build a KSLC you can trust.
The first place Korean seniors turn to. I will serve wholeheartedly so that those words become a promise you can feel in daily life.
Please come by whenever you wish. You will be warmly welcomed. Thank you.

OUR STORY
Community first,
campus second.
KSLC was founded to help Korean seniors keep the life opportunities they deserve, despite barriers of language, systems, health, housing, transportation, and isolation.
We are not an organization that runs a single program. We are a community platform that connects public agencies, hospitals, churches, nonprofits, families, and volunteers around one person's life. When that community has grown enough, the Korean Senior Life Campus will be built — not as a building, but as a living promise.
THE CHALLENGE
Problems Korean seniors face — and KSLC's response
Language & Cultural Barriers
Hearing information isn't the same as understanding, deciding, and asking questions.
→ We open a first door of trust through Korean-language navigation and interpretation.
System Complexity
Medi-Cal, Medicare, IHSS, SSI, and housing support are disconnected paths.
→ One Door, Many Services — connecting several services from a single point.
Fragmented Services
Being referred to an agency doesn't always lead to actually using it.
→ Warm referral and follow-up that doesn't stop at the introduction.
Housing & Health Risk
Problems are often discovered only after they become a crisis.
→ Early consultation and needs assessment to catch issues sooner.
Transportation & Digital Barriers
Appointments, applications, and follow-up are often hard to manage alone.
→ We help with both transportation and digital access.
Social Isolation
Loneliness and lack of information reduce participation.
→ We reconnect through relationships, education, and volunteering.
MISSION & VISION
Vision & Mission
Mission
KSLC connects Korean seniors to Korean-language navigation and to health, public benefits, housing, caregiving, education, and social participation services, so they can live healthy, dignified, and meaningful lives.
Vision
To be the first place Korean seniors turn to — starting in Orange County and growing into a comprehensive Senior Life Campus representing the Korean community across North America.
Connecting health, building community, and leaving a legacy of hope for future generations.
CORE VALUES
Core Values
Dignity
Every senior is the author of their own choices. We explain and seek consent rather than deciding for them.
Love
Care and welcome come before process. We listen for the loneliness and fear behind the urgent problem.
Excellence
We turn good intentions into precise practice, through current information and training.
Connection
We connect multiple services from one door — No Wrong Door, warm referral, and follow-up.
Integrity
We say what we don't know. No exaggeration, no guarantees, no hidden costs.
Innovation
We test small, learn, and improve.
Stewardship
We responsibly manage money, information, relationships, and space.
OUR JOURNEY
Community to Campus Roadmap
We don't secure a facility first — we grow in order: trust → navigation → programs → community → campus.
Community Building
Building the founding committee, official brand, partner relationships, and first users.
Navigation Center
Operating a Korean-language Senior Navigation Desk with closed-loop referral. This is where KSLC is today.
Community Service Center
Expanding into day programs, wellness, education, and caregiver support.
Life Campus
Building a Korean Senior Life Campus where trust, navigation, programs, and partnerships come together in one place.
